Job Title: Technical Lead – Data Centre Solutions (Techno-Commercial)

Role Overview

As a Technical Lead, you will bridge cutting-edge electrical engineering expertise with commercial strategy to drive SustainX’s growth in the data centre market. You’ll spearhead techno-commercial bidding processes, engage directly with clients to understand their needs, and develop MIS frameworks to optimize decision-making. This role is ideal for an engineer with 2–3 years of sales/BD exposure who thrives in customer-centric technical environments.


Key Responsibilities

1. Techno-Commercial Bidding:

    • Lead end-to-end bid management for data centre projects (RFQ/RFP/RFI responses).
    • Develop cost models, technical proposals, and pricing strategies balancing competitiveness & profitability.
    • Collaborate with engineering teams to design scalable electrical solutions (HV/LV systems, backup power, renewables).

2. Customer Engagement:

    • Act as the primary technical advisor for clients, presenting solutions and addressing queries.
    • Conduct site assessments, understand client pain points, and translate requirements into tailored proposals.
    • Build long-term relationships with key accounts (hyperscalers, enterprises, colocation providers).

3. MIS & Reporting:

    • Design and maintain Management Information Systems (MIS) for bid tracking, win/loss analysis, and market intelligence.
    • Generate performance dashboards for the CEO, highlighting pipeline health, margins, and growth opportunities.

4. Sales Enablement:

    • Leverage 2–3 years of sales experience to mentor technical teams on commercial best practices.
    • Support market strategy by identifying emerging trends (e.g., green energy, AI-driven infrastructure).

Qualifications & Skills

Must-Have:

    • Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or any BTech with work experience in similar field.
    • 2–3 years in techno-commercial bidding, customer-facing roles, or solution sales (data centre/industrial sectors preferred).
    • Proficiency in MIS development (Power BI, Tableau, Excel) and technical documentation.
    • Deep knowledge of data centre electrical systems: power distribution, UPS, generators, renewables integration.

Ideal Candidate:

    • Background in sales/business development with proven ability to close complex deals.
    • Strategic thinker with analytical skills to dissect RFPs and optimize bid responses.
    • Exceptional communication skills – able to simplify technical jargon for C-suite clients.
